Defenseman Sebastian Aho, who spent the past two seasons under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, has signed a two-year contract with the V\u00e4xj\u00f6 Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League.<\/p>\n
That team announced the transaction on <\/a>Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Aho, a native of Sweden, remains under contract to the Penguins until July 1. With regards to his NHL status, he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n A left-handed shot, the 30-year-old Aho signed with the Penguins in 2024, agreeing to a contract with a salary cap hit of $775,000 but only played at the American Hockey League level with Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton.<\/p>\n Injuries limited Aho (5-foot-10, 180 pounds) to 56 games over his two seasons with Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton.
