The NBA Finals have come and gone, with the Boston Celtics<\/a>‘ bitter rival being crowned champion. The good news is that now they can start building their roster for 2026-27 to ensure another 53-year drought is in store for the city of New York.<\/p>\n

Starting on Sunday, Boston can begin negotiating with its own fre aents and extension eligible players. They are also now eligible to make and complete trades.<\/p>\n

The free agents currently under Boston’s control are: Nikola Vucevic<\/a>, Neemias Queta<\/a>, Aari Williams, Jordan Walsh<\/a>, Ron Harper Jr.<\/a>, Max Shulga<\/a>, John Tonje<\/a> and Dalano Banton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Celtics were able to save themselves 350 million dollars at the trade deadline this season.<\/p>\n

They currently sit $34 million under the second apron of the luxury tax.<\/p>\n

Moving from free agents to extension-eligible players, there almost certainly will be a push to get Peyton Pritchard signed to a better deal this offseason. Pritchard<\/a> is currently operating on, without exaggeration, the single best contract in the entire NBA.<\/p>\n

Starting October 1, Pritchard will be eligible to sign a three-year, $67 million extension with Boston. If no trade rumblings emerge before then, it is safe to assume the two parties have agreed to that deal.<\/p>\n

All eyes will now shift to the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a>.\u00a0Antetokounmpo could be traded any minute now, with the Celtics rumored to have already made an offer.<\/p>\n
