For the second time in two weeks, Jackson Chourio<\/a> could be counted on by his Milwaukee<\/a> teammates for big-time offense, blasting two big home runs in the same game on Saturday, June 13.<\/p>\n

But unfortunately, the impressive accomplishment still got buried in a loss for the Brewers<\/a>, just as it had a few weeks before.<\/p>\n

Chourio rocked his second homer of the night in the seventh inning of a comeback attempt that fell just short by the Brewers, hitting a 1-1 pitch to center field that trimmed a five-run deficit to 8-5.<\/p>\n

After the Phillies<\/a> tacked on a run in the top of the eight, the Brewers scored three times \u2013 with the last run scoring on a single by Chourio \u2013 in the bottom of the inning to bring the score to 9-8.<\/p>\n

But Milwaukee couldn\u2019t finish and lost by a run to Philadelphia<\/a> at American Family Field.<\/p>\n

The outcome was the same June 4 when Chourio had two home runs in the 12-9 loss<\/a> to San Francisco<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Still, it\u2019s a bright spot to see Chourio so productive, coming back from the left hand injury that sidelined him<\/a> for the first month of start the season.<\/p>\n

Chourio’s stat line \u2013 4 of his last 8 home runs this season have come in the last four games \u2013 has boosted Milwaukee’s offense. He also has four doubles and 20 RBI in his last 14 games before Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s making up for lost time,\u201d said Brewers manager Pat Murphy.<\/p>\n

Chourio impressed Murphy with his swing decisions as well, and Chourio said he knew when to adapt his approach at the plate in the game Saturday. The first time, he launched a solo home run in the fifth inning on a 2-2 pitch that sparked a two-run inning by the Brewers to tie the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to go out there and play my same game,\u201d said Chourio after the game through the team interpreter. \u201cIts sometimes a question of where there\u2019s different moments where I try to be as disciplined as possible.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s other moments I\u2019m looking to do the best contact that I can. The kind of game calls for and dictates different things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy said Chourio\u2019s hand has healed after holding him out to start the season, even 15 days longer than Chourio was ready to come back. That was the point \u2013 that Chourio would be completely healthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think from the start of the season, you know, thanks to God \u2026 I’ve been feeling great and been able to, you know, connect on some big swings there,\u201d said Chourio.<\/p>\n
