{"id":704421,"date":"2026-06-14T23:40:20","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T23:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/704421\/"},"modified":"2026-06-14T23:40:20","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T23:40:20","slug":"newton-wellesley-hospitals-brain-tumor-investigation-new-info-on-the-11-diagnosed-nurses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/704421\/","title":{"rendered":"Newton-Wellesley Hospital&#8217;s brain tumor investigation: New info on the 11 diagnosed nurses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new report on the investigation into a potential hospital cancer cluster is shedding light on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/2025\/05\/16\/massachusetts-nurse-brain-tumor-cluster-newton-wellesley-hospital-confirms-another-self-reported-case\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the 11 nurses who were diagnosed with brain tumors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven current and former nurses in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonherald.com\/2025\/04\/07\/massachusetts-nurses-with-brain-tumors-dph-in-communication-with-newton-wellesley\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Newton-Wellesley Hospital\u2019s fifth floor maternity wing were diagnosed with brain tumors<\/a>, sparking concern from employees and the community.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a new independent report of the tumor concerns at the hospital concluded that the hospital workplace is a safe environment \u2014 and is not the cause of the brain tumors. There\u2019s no evidence of \u201ca true workplace tumor cluster\u201d at the Mass General Brigham facility, according to the Harvard professor\u2019s report.<\/p>\n<p>The external review provides some new information about the 11 diagnosed nurses, who are all women.<\/p>\n<p>Six of the cases are meningiomas, two are gliomas, two are pituitary adenomas, and one is a schwannoma of the optic nerve.
