\n\tDespite her wishes for a higher body count, Alison Brie<\/a> hopes the Scream<\/a> franchise could pull off a resurrection in her honor.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2x Golden Globe nominee, who played doomed book publicist Rebecca Walters in Scream 4, recently pitched her character\u2019s return for Scream 7<\/a> after several familiar faces were announced to be back from the dead.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAlison was famously in Scream 4. I feel like with new Scream rules, even though she dies brutally, we could bring her back,\u201d her husband Dave Franco<\/a> noted on the Shut Up Evan<\/a> podcast, to which she agreed, \u201cYeah, where\u2019s my role in Scream 7?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter news that David Arquette<\/a>, Matthew Lillard<\/a> and Scott Foley<\/a> would reprise their deceased characters in the seventh installment, following Skeet Ulrich<\/a>\u2018s return in the previous two films, Brie said, \u201cI hear tons of people are coming back. \u2026 I mean, Hayden [Panettiere]<\/a> came back in [Scream] 6.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe loophole has also encouraged franchise alums Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> and Parker Posey<\/a> to campaign for their characters\u2019 returns.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith the most recent two sequels seeing the survival of \u201ccore four\u201d characters Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera<\/a>), Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega<\/a>), Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding<\/a>) and Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown<\/a>), Brie also shared her \u201cproblem with the current era\u201d of the slasher franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cToo many people live,\u201d she said. \u201cThe \u2018core four\u2019 needs to die. We killed [Jamie Kennedy\u2019s Randy Meeks] in Scream 2. We should be down to two of the \u2018core four,\u2019 just by Scream 7.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter original character Dewey Riley (Arquette) was killed in Scream (2022), Brie admitted, \u201cThat was very sad. That was a mistake. Keep the main three.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNeve Campbell<\/a> reprises her \u201cfinal girl\u201d role as Sidney Prescott in Scream 7, which is set to hit theaters<\/a> on Feb. 27, 2026. She joins returning stars Courteney Cox, Arquette, Foley, Lillard, Gooding and Brown, as well as newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O\u2019Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mark Consuelos and Ethan Embry.<\/p>\n
