\n\tFollowing Oliver Tree<\/a>\u2018s death, the music industry is paying tribute to the artist, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n\tMelanie Martinez<\/a>, who previously dated the Love You Madly Hate You Badly artist, remembered him as a \u201ctrue artist\u201d with a \u201csoft heart\u201d in a tribute she posted Sunday to her Instagram Story. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBeen an absolute wreck today,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to understand how someone who you once shared such a specific and formative time of your life with can all of a sudden be gone. He was so dedicated to his art which I admired and respected so deeply. I think everyone who knew him will look back at those moments of laughter and joy he so easily sparked. His laugh was so contagious and warm. His ability to lead creatively and take action while also maintaining a sense of childlike wonder and awe was so inspiring. He had such a soft heart and was a true artist in every way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMartinez added, \u201cRest in peace Oliver. I know you\u2019re making the angels giggle. I\u2019ll be here wondering what stunt and creative project you\u2019re scheming up in heaven. All my love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTree died at age 32<\/a> on Sunday, one of six people to perish when two helicopters crashed over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was coming off the S\u00e3o Paulo stop on his The World\u2019s First World Tour last weekend, before he was set to kick off the European leg in July.<\/p>\n
