Wishy<\/a> have announced their new album \u2018Nature\u2019s Pill\u2019 with the uplifting single \u2018Lovesick\u2019 and details of a US tour.<\/p>\n

The upcoming album will be the second from the former NME Cover stars<\/a>, and is set for release on October 2 via Winspear \u2013 you can visit here<\/a> to pre-order.<\/p>\n

The release comes following the Indiana indie rockers breaking into the scene in 2023 with their debut EP \u2018Paradise\u2019, and following it up with their first album \u2018Triple Seven\u2019 the following year, and EP \u2018Planet Popstar\u2019 in 2025.<\/p>\n

As well as announcing the sophomore record, Wishy have also dropped the upbeat lead single \u2018Lovesick\u2019 as the first taster of the new LP, and it comes with swooning vocal melodies and ethereal instrumentation that makes nods to The Cure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Discussing the inspiration behind the track, singer Nina Pitchkites explained that there was \u201cnot much more that needs to be said about yearning in 2026, but here it is anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKevin [Krauter] and I are stupidly romantic people who like twee pop so that combination alone was a recipe for a cheeky \u2018main character\u2019 song,\u201d Pitchkites added. \u201cWe really leaned into the overzealous lyrics here because we\u2019re allowed, [we] can do whatever we want and it\u2019s fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the record itself, \u2018Nature\u2019s Pill\u2019 sees Wishy leaning into the chaos of the world around them and defiantly opting to continue putting forward their signature blend on captivating indie rock even when times get tough.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing in an indie band feels bizarre when the world is on fire,\u201d Krauter said. \u201cWhat can you do at the end of the day other than carve out some space \u2013 at the very least I have my imagination and I can invite others to join me there. At a certain point you need to say fuck it and roll with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shows kick off at the House Of Blues in Cleveland on July 25, and include shows in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Santa Ana, Portland, Seattle, Boston, Nashville, Chicago and more over the following three months.<\/p>\n

Speaking to NME for their time on The Cover in 2024<\/a>, Wishy explained the driving force behind their songwriting, with Pitchkites telling us: \u201cI want to write music that I want to listen to.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of music snobs have things to say about bands that just write hooks \u2013 I guess some people would say it\u2019s predictable or something. But I don\u2019t care. I want to hear a good hook. That\u2019s it.
