According to a Warner Bros. social media announcement, she\u2019ll be playing Seren\u2014a character that was seemingly created just for the Andy Serkis film, <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/lord-of-the-rings-hunt-for-gollum-aragorn-jamie-dornan-2000746584\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">much like the characters being played<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/kate-winslet-hunt-for-gollum-lord-of-the-rings-2000732443\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kate Winslet<\/a> and Leo Woodall.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Welcome to the hunt, Anya Taylor-Joy. (@warnerbros) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/warnerbros\/status\/2066596727428440115?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">June 15, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Given the cape and bow and arrow glimpsed in that teaser image\u2014not to mention that Taylor-Joy already has long, platinum blonde hair and a certain ethereal quality about her\u2014we can assume that Seren is an elf. Typecasting? Maybe. But Taylor-Joy has more than proved her ability as an action star, thanks to films like Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. She\u2019s also a natural fit amid fantastical settings, something we\u2019ll see even more of when <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/dune-part-three-cinemacon-footage-description-trailer-2000746648\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dune: Part Three<\/a> arrives later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Her castmates in The Hunt for Gollum include Andy Serkis, who directs and will be playing Gollum and Sm\u00e9agol. Other returning faces include Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, and Lee Pace as Thranduil. Middle-earth newcomer Jamie Dornan is stepping in for Viggo Mortensen as Strider, aka Aragorn.<\/p>\n<p>Then, as mentioned, we\u2019ll meet Kate Winslet as Marigol and Leo Woodall as Halvard.<\/p>\n<p>Are you excited to see Taylor-Joy speaking Elvish?
