This Sentell\u2019s Intel rep on Georgia football recruiting<\/a> has the latest with 3-star DL Marcellus Young-Casario. He\u2019s the nation\u2019s No. 70 DL and the No. 553 overall prospect for 2027 on the 247Sports Composite. The Rivals Industry Ranking has him as the No. 54 EDGE and No. 521 overall. <\/p>\n

Ask anyone who\u2019s seen Marcellus Young Casario play football. He plays for Rabun Gap School up in Georgia. That\u2019s not a GHSA member school, but they\u2019ll have an opinion. <\/p>\n

Several sources all described him with some blend of the following three phrases: <\/p>\n

Young Casario, a 3-star DL, just took his official visit to check out UGA this past weekend. It didn\u2019t take him long to become the 16th commitment of the 2027 class in Athens. <\/p>\n

The Rabun Gap standout, who\u2019s currently battling back from a junior year hip labrum injury, announced his commitment to UGA on Monday evening via his social Instagram. The injury happened right around the midpoint of the season. He tried to fight back from it and even played some in the playoffs. <\/p>\n

It was a six-month rehab process. The Rabun Gap staff told DawgNation that Young Casario has now just gotten cleared to start working his way back. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s still quite new to his football journey. He hasn\u2019t been playing long. His best football is clearly ahead of him.<\/p>\n

Young reportedly measured in at 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds in Athens this weekend. He also touts an 85-inch wingspan. The Canadian native chose the Bulldogs over a strong interest in Georgia Tech. <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat sticks out to me first is how ginormous he is,\u201d Rabun Gap coach Derek White said. \u201cHe\u2019s a man. His length. His development down the road. Then how his body is going to keep changing. He\u2019s just so long he hasn\u2019t been able to put the mass on.\u201d <\/p>\n

With this decision, he now pushes Georgia\u2019s national class ranking from No. 21 to No. 14 overall on the 247Sports team rankings. He\u2019s the second verbal commitment of the day for the Dawgs. <\/p>\n

What are the Dawgs getting in Young-Carsario? <\/p>\n

\u201cTray Scott called me,\u201d Rabun Gap coach Derek White said. \u201cNumber one, we took him to camp prior and they saw how big he was. All those things. We just knew how Georgia loves size. Size and physicality are huge for them. Trey just talked about how explosive his first step was. Being that big and that long and getting his hands into you and how explosive that first step was for him.\u201d <\/p>\n

Georgia also flipped 4-star Tennessee WR Jamir Dean from Penn State earlier today. <\/a> <\/p>\n

White thinks he can play up and down the line in Athens. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think his overall projection is he becomes a 5-technique and works his way in,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s a heavy [five-tech], and he\u2019s what every NFL team wants out of a 3-technique or a 4i technique. Just length and size with the size that can stop the run is a problem.\u201d<\/p>\n
