Crow-Armstrong is again looking like a superstar<\/a>.<\/p>\nCrow-Armstrong hit for the cycle during Monday\u2019s game against the Colorado Rockies, putting on a show for the crowd of 38,337 on a postcard 76-degree night at Wrigley Field.<\/p>\n
\u201cLook, I told him this: \u2018There is a responsibility of hitting first in a lineup,\u2019\u201d Counsell said recently. \u201cWe are choosing you to hit the most. I mean, that\u2019s how baseball works, right? So that\u2019s a responsibility. Hopefully, that means something. We still want every at-bat to mean something, too. And every at-bat is important, and every moment is important. But if that works for him, that would be helpful.\u201d<\/p>\n
The loud crack of the bat echoed throughout the ballpark when Crow-Armstrong launched Michael Lorenzen\u2019s fourth pitch of the game 434 feet into the center-field bleachers.<\/p>\n
In the third inning, Crow-Armstrong drilled another Lorenzen pitch off the wall in right-center field, racing for a triple. He notched a double off Lorenzen in the fifth inning by driving a ball into the right-field corner, moving closer toward a historic performance.<\/p>\n
Shortly after singing \u201cTake Me Out To The Ball Game,\u201d the crowd chanted \u201cP-C-A! P-C-A!\u201d Crow-Armstrong lined a single off lefty reliever Brennan Bernardino into right field to complete the 13th cycle in franchise history.<\/p>\n
And then, underlining how inconsistent the Cubs have been this season, Crow-Armstrong got picked off at first base.<\/p>\n
The last Cub to hit for the cycle was Carson Kelly, who did it on March 31 last year against the Athletics.
