{"id":706896,"date":"2026-06-16T06:04:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T06:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/706896\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T06:04:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T06:04:08","slug":"rashee-rice-is-due-to-be-released-from-jail-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/706896\/","title":{"rendered":"Rashee Rice is due to be released from jail on Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After missing the Chiefs\u2019 OTAs and mandatory minicamp, receiver Rashee Rice soon will be free.<\/p>\n<p>Via KCUR, Rice is scheduled to be released from jail <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kcur.org\/sports\/2026-06-15\/kansas-city-chiefs-rashee-rice-texas-jail-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">on Tuesday, June 16<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Rice was <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/rashee-rice-gets-30-days-in-jail-for-probation-violation-after-testing-positive-for-thc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">required to serve 30 days immediately<\/a>, after testing positive for THC. He had been sentenced to 30 days to be served at his discretion over the five-year term of his probation following the resolution of charges arising from a March 2024 street-racing incident. He pleaded guilty last year to two felonies.<\/p>\n<p>Per the report, Rice ultimately was permitted to exit the facility to rehab a knee on which he had surgery shortly before his incarceration. The court order allowing it was entered on May 28.<\/p>\n<p>Rice also was moved from an \u201cisolated cell\u201d to general population, at his lawyer\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p>The league has shown no inclination to impose further punishment on Rice for his probation violation.
