A Perfect Circle<\/a> are \u201cworking towards\u201d new music, following them kicking off their first UK tour in eight years and releasing the standalone single \u2018Starless\u2019.<\/p>\n

The new track from the band dropped in a surprise release last month<\/a>, and marked their first since the track \u2018Kindred\u2019, which featured on 2024\u2019s \u2018Sessanta E.P.P.P.<\/a>\u2019 alongside contributions from Primus<\/a> and another Maynard James Keenan<\/a>-led band, Puscifer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since then, they have kicked off their first UK and European tour dates since 2018 \u2013 breaking out the new single for the first time at London\u2019s O2 Academy Brixton<\/a>, alongside some fan favourites and deep cuts.<\/p>\n

Now, guitarist and founder Billy Howerdel has opened up about if fans can expect them to release a new album anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s more [music] underway. And in the spirit of soft deadlines, I\u2019m not gonna give you the date, but we\u2019re working toward something,\u201d he told Minneapolis\u2019s 93Xradio station.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re on tour, and it\u2019s hard to get solid things done when you\u2019re out here. I sometimes optimistically think that\u2019s going to happen, [but now, for example] we\u2019re six shows in and this is the first day I really slept,\u201d Howerdel added. \u201cSo to get real cracking on the new album, I need a couple more of these days to line up over the next tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Howerdel formed A Perfect Circle in 1999 alongside frontman Maynard James Keenan, and members have included Nine Inch Nails<\/a> drummer Josh Freese \u2013 who is currently on tour with them \u2013 Pixies<\/a>\u2019 bassist Paz Lenchantin, Smashing Pumpkins<\/a>\u2019 James Iha, Queens Of The Stone Age\u2019s<\/a> Troy Van Leeuwen and more.<\/p>\n

Speaking about working with Keenan, Howerdel told the radio station that he \u201cfeels more creative with him\u201d than other musicians, and has always admired the \u201cfocus\u201d and \u201cgreat work ethic\u201d of the singer, who also fronts Tool<\/a> and Puscifer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s at least in the top three hardest-working people I know that have real vision, conviction, a vision that he\u2019s gonna execute and be tenacious about it,\u201d Howerdel explained. \u201cAnd he\u2019s like that with music. Once the train starts rolling, it\u2019s rolling. Then that feels good.\u201d<\/p>\n

While A Perfect Circle have shared the standalone single \u2018Starless\u2019 and featured in the aforementioned 2024 \u2018Sessanta E.P.P.P.\u2019, they haven\u2019t shared a full album since 2018\u2019s \u2018Eat The Elephant<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

That was their fourth record, following on from 2000\u2019s \u2018Mer De Noms\u2019, 2003\u2019s \u2018Thirteenth Step\u2019 and 2004\u2019s \u2018eMOTIVe\u2019.<\/p>\n

As well as their headline European tour dates, the American rockers will make festival appearances at Rock Werchter, NOS Alive, Rock AM Ring and Mad Cool<\/a> later this summer.<\/p>\n

From there, they\u2019ll join forces with Puscifer at the end of the year for a joint tour across South America, Australia and Japan.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Maynard James Keenan spoke to NME about his time balancing three bands<\/a>, as well as running his own wine company Caduceus Cellars \u2013 and explained whether the busy schedule has led to him wanting any downtime away from touring commitments.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cYou only live twice, so I have to \u2013 I don\u2019t want to say, \u2018Strike while the iron\u2019s hot\u2019 because that sounds like such a Wall Street trader douchebag statement \u2013 but when you have the inspiration in front of you, and if you have the energy, you should listen and respond to it. I don\u2019t really see any reason why you shouldn\u2019t,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also opened up about if he had considered bringing his \u2018Sessanta\u2019 tour \u2013 a three-way headline tour with A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus<\/a> \u2013 over to the UK after seeing the huge response from fans in the US.<\/p>\n
