Amy Adams Recalls Graphic SNL Sketch She Rejected<\/p>\n

For most celebrities, hosting Saturday Night Live<\/a> is the perfect opportunity to have some fun and take a risk. But sometimes, you’ve got to know where to draw the line.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ll give you the gist without telling you the punchline,” she explained to Seth. “It was this couple [and] he got bit by a spider in the park, and she\u2019s like, \u2018Honey, I love you so much, and now that you\u2019re dying, is there any last wish?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, ‘Yes, I never got a chance to\u2026’ And then said what could only be described as the most graphic thing that he wanted to do with me.”<\/p>\n

For context, this happened just a few months after Amy starred as the singing princess Giselle in Enchanted, and she feared that the NSFW sketch idea would be inappropriate \u2014 and potentially scarring \u2014 for the movie’s young fans.<\/p>\n

“I was so keenly aware of all the young girls that were watching Enchanted,” she explained. “And I didn\u2019t want to be the princess singing about that particular act, you know?”<\/p>\n

For that reason, Amy rejected the idea, and fortunately, the team took it well \u2014 despite the fact that the song had already been written and fully produced.<\/p>\n

Andy previously discussed the “very dirty” song on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast<\/a> back in 2024, saying that Amy’s rejection of the idea wound up being an important learning curve at that time in his career.<\/p>\n

“She was like, ‘That\u2019s really funny. I can\u2019t do that. Little girls are so obsessed with Enchanted right now. They will find this, and it will be scarring for them,'” he recalled Amy saying. “Within five minutes, a mother and her little girl walked up, and the look on the little girl\u2019s face upon seeing Amy Adams, I was like, \u2018Oh, she was so right.'”<\/p>\n

“It was very instructive for me,” he continued. “It\u2019s not something I even ever thought about in our line of work, you know what I mean? Like, she actually has an obligation and a responsibility to those kids, and she took it really seriously. And I remember being really impressed by that.”<\/p>\n
