Falls Lake water levels continue to drop.<\/p>\n

The U.S Army Corps of Engineers reported Tuesday that Falls lake is now 5.3 feet below lake level, taking the water supply to 66%. That is a 3% drop from last week.<\/p>\n

Central North Carolina has been in a severe drought for months now and if significant rain does not come soon, Falls Lake’s water supply could hit 60% in July.<\/p>\n

The city of Raleigh implements Stage 2<\/a> water restrictions when Falls Lake’s water supply hits 45%.<\/p>\n

Raleigh water customers have been in Stage 1 water\u00a0<\/p>\n

restrictions\u00a0since\u00a0April 20<\/a>\u00a0when Falls Lake’s water supply hit 85%.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know about Stage 1 water restrictions:<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAutomatic and non-automatic spray irrigation is allowed between midnight and 10 a.m.\u00a0Homes with odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays.\u00a0Homes with even-numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays.\u00a0Irrigation of landscapes is recommended at a\u00a0maximum\u00a0of one-half inch per week.\u00a0Water customers must abide by required water use reductions and efficiency measures; penalties apply for noncompliance.<\/p>\n

Since April 20, officials have issued 244 educational letters, 10 official warnings and recorded 355 violations related to water-use rules.<\/p>\n
