The future of 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk<\/a> has been a hot topic this NFL offseason.<\/p>\n

Aiyuk hasn’t appeared in a game since he tore his ACL and MCL in October 2024, and his reported unwillingness to rehab with San Francisco led the organization to void his future guaranteed money<\/a>. The 49ers also have been adamant about trading the 28-year-old former All-Pro, who recently has posted videos bashing the team <\/a>for not releasing him.<\/p>\n

As one could imagine, releasing videos in which he calls the 49ers “stupid” is not helping his image around the league. In fact, one anonymous NFL executive told insider Jason La Canfora<\/a> that they would not even offer the former first-round pick a veteran minimum contract.<\/p>\n

“We don\u2019t need that here,” the exec told La Canfora.<\/p>\n

Despite the Washington Commanders having long been viewed as Aiyuk’s preferred landing spot, La Canfora confirmed that there won’t be a line of teams hoping to bring in Aiyuk.<\/p>\n

“It will not be a long list of suitors at this point,” La Canfora wrote.<\/p>\n

As reported by NFL media’s Ian Rapoport<\/a> earlier this month, the Commanders, 49ers and Aiyuk himself are all sitting and staring at one another as they wait for their desired outcome.<\/p>\n

The aforementioned desired outcome for the Commanders hasn’t changed in months, as Rapoport reported in April<\/a> that they are perfectly content with waiting for the 49ers to release Aiyuk. When it comes to the 49ers, although they voided the wide receiver’s guaranteed money, they’d still like to receive some sort of compensation in return.<\/p>\n

In the five seasons he has played, Aiyuk has racked up 294 receptions for 4,305 yards and 25 touchdowns.<\/p>\n
