Rosie O\u2019Donnell revealed the reasoning behind her decision to get a facelift after years of resisting surgery, including the irritating comments she received after losing weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got two really deep lines here,\u201d O\u2019Donnell, 64, stated candidly during a Tuesday episode of SiriusXM\u2019s Radio Andy. \u201cThey call them marionette lines from losing so much weight on Ozempic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a lot of extra skin on my neck,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell told co-host Andy Cohen that taking a GLP-1 medication for three and a half years and the 60-pound weight loss that followed prompted her to get a lower deep-plane facelift in January.<\/p>\n

The A League of Their Own star shared in a Substack article<\/a> after her surprise facelift that the rapid weight loss made her face look like it was \u201cmelting off.\u201d <\/p>\n

Loose skin is a common side effect reported by many GLP-1 users who have lost weight. Surgeons who have spoken to The Looker have reported an increase in patients seeking plastic surgery to eliminate their so-called \u201cOzempic face.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell admitted she was persuaded to undergo the procedure after people in Ireland, where she has lived since January 2025, told her she looked sad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sick of people in Ireland going, \u2018Oh, darling, are you sad?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018No, I\u2019m not sad. That\u2019s my face,\u2019\u201d she told Cohen.<\/p>\n

But taking such a drastic step even surprised her, as she has always considered herself \u201canti-facelift.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t lead with any sort of vanity, and I think that\u2019s what people love about you,\u201d Cohen said in response.<\/p>\n

The comedian had to rethink her morals before finally deciding on surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had assigned myself as head of all women who would never\u2014ever,\u201d but realized that her body can\u2019t \u201cbelong to an idea,\u201d even if that idea was feminism, she explained on her Substack.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell consulted several doctors in her search for a surgeon who would achieve the subtle result she wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not going Kardashian,\u201d she quipped to Cohen, \u201cwe\u2019re going end the sad face.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian made her first red carpet appearance since the facelift last week at the 2026 Tony Awards in New York City. She received much praise after posting pictures from the event on Instagram, with people calling her \u201cfabulous\u201d and \u201cstunning.\u201d<\/p>\n
