(WCAX) &#8211; Vermont Gov. Phil Scott has vetoed a bill on reference-based pricing. The bill would have created a set price for healthcare statewide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Advocates claimed the bill would lower healthcare costs, keep hospitals open and keep insurance companies from going belly-up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Among other objections raised in his veto on Tuesday, the governor said those claims don\u2019t hold up.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCAX.
