\n The memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States is \u201cofficially finalized\u201d after being digitally signed by both countries, Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in an interview with state broadcaster IRIB.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt was agreed that the Iran\u2013U.S. memorandum of understanding would be signed digitally,\u201d Baghaei told IRIB, adding that while there are plans for negotiating teams to be in Geneva, there would be no signing ceremony in Switzerland. Earlier, a US official said<\/a> a formal signing ceremony would take place on Friday with US Vice President JD Vance in attendance.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThe Iran\u2013U.S. memorandum is now officially finalized because both sides have signed it,\u201d Baghaei said.\n <\/p>\n

\n According to the ministry spokesman, violating the memorandum will \u201ccarry a greater cost\u201d once signed by both presidents.\n <\/p>\n

\n Baghaei said that if the text is now reviewed, there would not be anything in it that wasn\u2019t already discussed.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe have, more or less, stated all of these points before,\u201d Baghaei said.\n <\/p>\n

\n The memorandum, he said, emphasizes that the 60-day negotiations will be solely focused on the nuclear issue and sanctions relief.\n <\/p>\n
