Kourtney Kardashian<\/a> was not taking no for an answer when it came to breastfeeding.<\/p>\n

In fact, the Kardashians<\/a> star celebrated 21 months of breastfeeding with her and Travis Barker<\/a>\u2019s son Rocky <\/a>in honor of World Breastfeeding Week\u2014despite her doctor previously telling her it might not be possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told my baby we would breastfeed when he was in my tummy every day after doctors told me he probably wouldn\u2019t be able to breastfeed,\u201d Kourtney wrote on her Instagram Stories<\/a> August 8 alongside a photo of her feeding her 21-month-old on a boat. \u201cI prayed about it and never believed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBlessed and grateful for this beautiful life and experience together with my baby,\u201d she continued. \u201c21 months and going strong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last July, the 46-year-old expressed that she had no plans to stop nursing her youngest<\/a>, adding that she hoped to continue breastfeeding for \u201cat least a year.\u201d<\/p>\n

After all, that\u2019s approximately how long she breastfed 10-year-old son Reign<\/a>, who she shares with ex Scott Disick<\/a> along with kids Mason<\/a>, 15, and Penelope<\/a>, 13.<\/p>\n

“I did Reigny for a year,” Kourtney said on her Hulu reality series at the time. “He started biting me.”<\/p>\n

Beyond breastfeeding, the reality star has shared insight into some of the other parenting practices<\/a> she firmly stands behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think living authentically is not conforming, to whatever it is,\u201d she said on the May 21 episode of sister Khloe Kardashian<\/a>\u2019s podcast Khloe in Wonderland. \u201cI will like nurse the fever of my kids versus giving Tylenol or ibuprofen. I just want to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I started therapy, I kind of started challenging the ways we did things sometimes, the way we all functioned,\u201d she continued. \u201cI love to just go against the grain.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to opting for more natural remedies when her kids are sick, she revealed that she holds baby Rocky for the entirety of his three to five hour naps<\/a> to foster a stronger emotional bond.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith attachment-style parenting, I hold him for his naps the whole time,\u201d she explained. \u201cHe\u2019s 23 pounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll sit in our little chair in the room,\u201d she continued. \u201cI still have my little breastfeeding pillow and then he\u2019ll lay on there, but my arm\u2019s under, and then I have a little radiation blanket that I put over to protect from EMF from phone use.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for why she prefers such a nurturing parenting style? Well, she said she hopes to nurture his \u201csecure attachment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s really not separating for as much as possible in the first definitely three years,\u201d she told her sister. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of just what my instincts\u2014I lean towards. It\u2019s what they tell me to do, I feel like. Just my motherly instincts. Mother knows best.\u201d<\/p>\n
