Anyone familiar with the antics of baby hippos knows that these incredibly adorable and highly mischievous animals can be some real characters, to say the least.<\/p>\n

Just like human parents who have to deal with the shenanigans of small, disobedient children, zoo staff who take care of baby hippos have to deal with quite a bit of nonsense. Just look at how the zoo staff struggles to get Mars, the baby hippo<\/a>, out of the water in this video.<\/p>\n

Well, Mars is certainly one very disobedient baby hippo, LOL. No matter how the zoo staff tried to reason with him, this tiny little pudgy hippo continues to be a naughty little boy.<\/p>\n

At first, they tried gently pushing Mars out of the water. But of course, that doesn\u2019t work. He pretty much acts like a dog on a walk who refuses to budge by lying down on the ground. He lowers his rump and digs his legs in and simply refuses to move.<\/p>\n

One point, the zoo staff tries lifting him up, but that doesn\u2019t work either. Mars digs his front legs in while a zoo staff member tries lifting up his rear. It looks like they\u2019re playing a comical version of the children\u2019s game \u201cwheelbarrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eventually, Mars is able to run away from the staff member when he slips loose and gets back into the water. Quite comically, when Mars\u2019 mama calls for him to get out of the water, he does so right away.<\/p>\n

A Fascinating Fact About Hippos<\/p>\n

Boy, that Mars is certainly a handful, LOL. It might seem like he is always causing mischief, but as this other video shows, that is simply not the case.<\/p>\n

Here, Mars can be seen taking a nap. But not only that, while he is napping, he is also secreting blood sweat. As the zoo staff member in this video explains, blood sweat is neither blood nor sweat.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a mucus that hippos secrete, which acts as a natural insect repellent, sunscreen, moisturizer, and an antibiotic that helps them heal all their wounds.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s absolutely fascinating stuff! But that\u2019s not all, if you turn up the volume and listen very carefully, you can hear little Mars snoring as he naps away! It\u2019s totally precious, as you might expect.<\/p>\n
