The NHL trade rumors are stirring at the Vancouver Canucks are trying to trade Elias Pettersson and are even getting some interest, but teams are expecting a substantial discount on the scratch and dent model. The other big name in the trade rumors is new, Connor Hellebuyck. Early Friday morning, the Tampa Bay Lightning executed a sign-and-trade with defenseman Darren Raddysh going to Toronto. Elsewhere in the Daily, the NHL cleared Mike Babcock to divide and conquer the Edmonton Oilers\u2019 dressing room as their new coach. And we looked at a few Pittsburgh Penguins draft targets and a couple of my gut feelings. <\/p>\n
Lastly, Jonathan Toews will retire this morning. It was good to see him get one more go and not be sidelined by whatever illness took him away in the first place. <\/p>\n
