In \u201cTreading Water\u201d off of Lost Americana, which dropped August 8, the \u201cclich\u00e9\u201d singer, 35, (real name: Colson Baker) begins the track by reflecting about being told by someone \u2014 seemingly Fox, 39 \u2014 not to \u201cwrite a song for me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
However, he does not heed that request. Noting he ruined \u201cthe holiday,\u201d MGK sings in the second verse, \u201cI loved you truly \/ that\u2019s why it\u2019s hard to let it go \/ I broke this home, but I\u2019ll change for our daughter, so she\u2019s not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n
MGK also touched on \u201cspending Christmas in rehabilitation,\u201d in \u201cRoom Three\u201d while being \u201cfixated on the gossip that I know is happening\u201d while seeking treatment with no access to a phone.<\/p>\n
