It\u2019s been nearly five years since\u00a0Nope<\/a>, and folks have been wondering: when is Jordan Peele going to make another movie?<\/p>\n

According to Puck\u2019s Matt Belloni<\/a>, the answer is \u201cfairly soon.\u201d The outlet\u2019s latest newsletter revealed the untitled film\u2014his fourth to date\u2014has made some progress. A script is finished and longtime partner Universal is \u201con board,\u201d but we shouldn\u2019t expect more news until casting happens in a few months.<\/p>\n

Still, at least it\u2019s something. While he indicated an interest in coming back to the world of Nope with a sequel<\/a>, it was known that Peele\u2019s follow up was to release in 2024. After the Hollywood strikes, the movie got pulled off Universal\u2019s release schedule<\/a>, then set for October 2026<\/a>, and then pulled again. Amid all this, Peele got roped into working on Hideo Kojima\u2019s upcoming horror game OD<\/a>,and his production company Monkeypaw<\/a> was hit with two rounds of layoffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2025\u2019s Him<\/a> is the last Monkeypaw movie greenlit, at least until this new film starts up production. All we can do now is wait to see who joins Jordan Peele in terrifying audiences in the next couple of years. Given his track record, it\u2019s hard to not be excited at who he could get and what he\u2019s got cooked up.<\/p>\n
