SAN ANTONIO \u2013 San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones expressed her concerned opinions through social media<\/a> on Saturday about the Alamodome hosting a Ye concert next month.<\/p>\n

The Grammy Award winning rapper, Ye \u2014 formerly known as Kanye West \u2014 has been involved in multiple controversial moments throughout his two decade career.<\/p>\n

The mayor made it clear she dislikes the idea of a city-funded stadium being used for his concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cI support canceling the Ye concert,\u201d Jones said on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I support canceling the @ye<\/a> concert. <\/p>\n

Military City USA should not host someone with a record of hate speech and antisemitic comments in a city-funded facility like our Alamodome\u2014not ever, and certainly not on July 4th, our Nation\u2019s 250th birthday. <\/p>\n

Jones also does not like San Antonio hosting Ye on the United States\u2019 birthday, the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n

\u201cMilitary City USA should not host someone with a record of hate speech and antisemitic comments in a city-funded facility like our Alamodome\u2014not ever, and certainly not on July 4th, our Nation\u2019s 250th birthday,\u201d Jones continued on X. \u201cStanding up to antisemitism is exactly what it takes to achieve a more perfect Union.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ye was recently barred from entering the United Kingdom where he was scheduled to headline the Wireless Festival in July, after a backlash over Ye\u2019s history of antisemitic remarks, the Associated Press reported in April<\/a>.<\/p>\n

KSAT has reached out to the Alamodome for a comment.<\/p>\n
