Olivia Miles\u2019s ugly Friday night may have been the exception that proved the rule she is becoming. That rule is simple: Trust the Minnesota Lynx rookie, no matter the opponent, but especially against middling defenses like the Washington Mystics.<\/p>\n

Olivia Miles<\/a> may be human. The Minnesota Lynx<\/a> rookie went 1-for-10 from the field Friday, arguably her first bad professional game.<\/p>\n

Fatigue did not cost Miles; she still made the game-sealing block in the final minute. She simply had a bad shooting night, one that she shouldn\u2019t let linger. Before that struggle, Miles had cleared this modest prop in six of seven games, the exception coming in a 33-point rout, playing only 23 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Washington Mystics<\/a> should keep tonight close enough for Miles to quickly exorcise those demons, though an eventual blowout may keep her from more than 20.<\/p>\n

The Lynx sitting atop the offensive ratings gets noticed. As does Minnesota sitting atop the defensive ratings. Unsurprisingly, the Lynx are atop the WNBA standings.<\/p>\n

But also realize, none of this was expected. This was so unexpected that oddsmakers have not yet caught up. Minnesota is 14-2 against the spread this season, including winning six straight against the spread.<\/p>\n
