Just nine days after committing to West Virginia<\/a>, three-star running back\u00a0Moni Williams<\/a>\u00a0has flipped his pledge to Auburn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder out of Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind<\/a> chose the Mountaineers on June 12 over offers from Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Auburn and a host of other programs. He visited Morgantown earlier in the month but changed his mind after a late push from the Tigers. <\/p>\n

He becomes the second commitment of the day for Alex Golesh and Co., who landed three-star athlete Preston Williams<\/a> on Sunday. <\/p>\n

Williams himself ranks as the No. 529 prospect nationally and No. 40 running back in the cycle, according to the\u00a0Rivals Industry Ranking<\/a>, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services.<\/p>\n

Rivals, however, is higher on him than both 247Sports and ESPN. In the most recent rankings update in April, he was tabbed as the No. 34 running back in the country and No. 19 player in the state of Tennessee.<\/p>\n

He is coming off a breakout junior season where he rushed 84 times for 892 yards (10.6 YPC) and seven touchdowns. In the passing game, he hauled in 17 passes for 263 yards and a pair of scores. <\/p>\n

Williams joins a class that hovers just outside the top 10 nationally in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The Tigers have added 12 commitments in the first three weeks of June alone, elevating a class that sat outside the top-25 last month to one of the elite groups both in the SEC and the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group is headlined by top-100 prospects Myson Johnson-Cook<\/a>, Chance Gilbert<\/a>, Layton von Brandt<\/a>, and Isaac McNeil<\/a>, along with eight other blue-chip prospects. <\/p>\n
