<\/a><\/p>\nIn an interview with Collider<\/a>, Meledanari was asked about the status on both film franchises and where they are headed in the future. His response:<\/p>\n \u201cWell, these are clearly two movies that not only do I love, but the filmmakers love them. The studio loves them. We have been working on\u00a0both. They\u2019re both, I would say, in active development.\u201d<\/p>\n Regarding Secret Life of Pets 3, he went on to state that it took the film company a while to come back to\u00a0Pets as they waited for an idea that would earn its place rather than simply just making another\u00a0Pets\u00a0movie.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we found a way into a\u00a0Secret Life of Pets\u00a0story that I certainly love. We\u2019re working with Chris Renaud, who not only was the co-director of\u00a0Despicable Me\u00a0with Pierre Coffin, but also the original director of\u00a0Pets. So, we are well underway, working hard on an idea that I\u2019m hoping that we\u2019ll make soon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n As for Sing 3, they are working to introduce some entirely new ideas into the story. Garth Jennings, who was the writer-director of the previous\u00a0Sing\u00a0movies, is focusing all of his energy right now with the team at Illumination, \u201cdeveloping what I believe is going to be a\u00a0Sing\u00a0movie that is honoring what we all love about the film.\u201d<\/p>\n He finishes the interview with:<\/p>\n So, both\u00a0Sing\u00a0and\u00a0Pets\u00a0are getting a tremendous amount of attention inside the studio, and I expect we\u2019ll have some announcements to make about both of them relatively soon.<\/p>\n At this time there are no timelines for these movies\u2019 releases.<\/p>\n Sing (2016) follows the story of Buster Moon as he fights to save his struggling theater by hosting a singing competition with a large cash prize. In Sing 2 (2021), Moon and his friends now have a successful show, but Buster wants to perform in a major entertainment city.<\/p>\n Both Secret Life of Pets (2016) and its sequel (2019) show what pets might do when their owners leave home. The first film follows Max and Duke when they wind up lost in New York City.
