GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) \u2014 Two Coast residents are among 11 Mississippians indicted in connection with an alleged Medicaid fraud scheme involving more than $12.3 million, according to Attorney General Lynn Fitch.<\/p>\n
Officials said the indictments involve allegations of fraudulent billing, wire fraud, and\/or false documentation seeking to defraud the government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese indictments are just the latest efforts we are taking to fight waste, fraud, and corruption,\u201d Fitch said. <\/p>\n
Among those indicted are Christopher Curtis Moore, 51, of Gulfport, and Taylor Christian Rushing, 34, of Gautier.<\/p>\n

The indictments were part of the U.S. Department of Justice\u2019s National Health Care Fraud Takedown. Officials said the operation led to criminal charges against 455 people, including doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other licensed medical professionals, across 45 states and territories.<\/p>\n
Officials said the defendants are accused of participating in health care fraud schemes involving more than $6.5 billion in intended loss.<\/p>\n
