However, both movies have been heavily panned by critics with the script seen as one of its weakest elements.<\/p>\n<p>The hiring of Mitchell, who\u2019s about to return to screens with the upcoming \u201cThe End of Oak Street,\u201d is seen as a big step up.<\/p>\n<p>The news was revealed by actor Skeet Ulrich (via <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonnyBlox\/status\/2069573769618678072\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jonny Blox<\/a>) who was appearing at Sinister Creature Con where he confirmed Mitchell\u2019s involvement:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re waiting on the third script to make the third film. The guy who wrote \u2018It Follows\u2019 is writing it right now, apparently, it\u2019s a lot of Matthew Lillard and I.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first film made $297 million off a $20 million budget, the sequel earned $240 million from a $36 million budget.
