TOWN OF SCOTT (WLUK) — Residents south of Van Lanen Road who are serviced by municipal water are advised to boil water from the tap until further notice.

The town notified the Wisconsin DNR of a loss of water pressure. Losses in water pressure can introduce contaminants and bacteria, such as E. coli, into the water supply.

When water pressure is back to normal, the tap may also release air and run cloudy water. The town advises that water will be safe for washing and flushing, just not for drinking. The DNR requires the town to collect four water samples when water pressure is lost, and says people shouldn’t drink it until the samples verify it’s safe.

According to a news release from the town, its water valve is operation and the water pressure system is restored. However, it’s still collecting water samples and verifying if the water is safe.

It’s unclear when a notice will come out verifying water is safe to drink again.

[47
192,79
post-723993","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-environment","tag-environment","tag-science
["GET
