In fact, it may have gotten slightly better. Not surprisingly, he’s in hot pursuit of another great class and here, from CollegeFootballNetwork.com, are six of the players he’s most avidly pursuing.

So fart, this is not seen as a tremendous class but don’t put too much stock into that. A lot of these guys have tremendous potential.

We’ve talked extensively about Smith recently so we won’t go into him too much now, but if Duke gets him and McCoy, they’ll have a shooting guard and a point guard woh are both immensely promising talents.

Collins is 6-8 or 6-9 depending on where you look, but either way, there’s a reasonable chance that, like all of these guys, he’s not growing. He also says he can guard 1-5, which no doubt Scheyer would love.

Williams is a 6-11 center out of Phoenix. Like Collins, he’s still slender at 200 lbs (Collins is the same weight currently). He would fit what Scheyer looks for defensively – he could lock down the lane – but he’s probably more versatile offensively than Dereck Lively or Khaman Maluach were at the same age.

Muurinen is a native of Finland who is playing currently at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona. He’s said to have a great feel for the game and he seems like a natural fit for Duke’s now traditional Stretch 4 spot. Duke is still in it, but his mother, Jenni Laaksonen, played for UNC. However, her coach, Sylvia Hatchell, is retired and Dean Smith stepped down before she was there. Hubert Davis is a nice man, but no one is confusing him with Smith. Still something to keep in mind though. This is not important in the big scheme of things, but Muurinen really favors his mom. Like a lot.

We said five but the article also mentions Babatunde Oladotun, who reclassified this week. He was widely seen as the best player in the Class of 2027.

Not surprisingly, the 6-9 Oladunton is still quite thin (175). He’s 6-9, but his father, Ibrahim, says they are looking for a coach who “knows how to use a big guard and has a history of coaching big guards. A coach that also plays an NBA-style offense with quick actions.”

He’s going to be a big deal and everyone is after him.

Since Jon Scheyer took over Duke Basketball after Mike Krzyzewski retired, recruiting hasn’t fallen off at all.
