New details about Bobby J. Brown\u2019s cause of death have been revealed, four months after he died in a tragic barn fire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWire\u201d alum, who died at 62 in February of diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation, \u201chad been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to death,\u201d according to the autopsy and toxicology report obtained by Us Weekly<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Drugs, however, were not found in the actor\u2019s system postmortem.<\/p>\n

New details about \u201cThe Wire\u201d alum Bobby J. Brown\u2019s cause of death have been revealed. Max<\/p>\n

The actor\u2019s carbon monoxide levels were 71 percent at the time of his passing, and \u201cthe vast majority\u201d of his hair was \u201csinged off.\u201d<\/p>\n

He suffered \u201cfourth-degree burns,\u201d as well as \u201cthermal fractures of the ankles,\u201d and skin was \u201cabsent from the left chest, a portion of the left arm and portions of the lower extremities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown was trying to jump-start a Cadillac in his Maryland barn ahead of his death, according to the harrowing 911 call<\/a> his widow, Arlene, made at the time.<\/p>\n

The building was \u201cmostly engulfed\u201d with Brown \u201ctrapped inside\u201d when emergency responders arrived.<\/p>\n

In addition to Arlene, the \u201cLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit\u201d alum is survived by two adult children.<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s rep mourned his client in February as a \u201crare soul who brought a deep sense of humanity to every role he played.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spokesperson added, \u201cWhile many knew him for his strength as a champion boxer and his powerful screen presence, we knew him as a dedicated professional and a kind-hearted individual. He was a true joy to represent.\u201d<\/p>\n

His agent, meanwhile, gushed, \u201cI am upset and saddened. He was such a good actor and person. He was totally dedicated to the craft of acting and was a joy to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown is best known for playing Officer Bobby Brown on \u201cThe Wire.\u201d<\/p>\n

His blood was 71 percent carbon monoxide postmortem.<\/p>\n

The former boxer\u2019s last acting gig was a role in the 2023 film \u201cMailman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown\u2019s passing followed a slew of his former \u201cWire\u201d co-stars\u2019 deaths, with James Ransone\u2019s suicide making headlines<\/a> two months prior.<\/p>\n

Cast members Charley Scalies and Al Brown both died in May 2025<\/a>, while Michael K.
