Please check back for updates.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">U.S. economy<\/a> grew at a faster pace than expected in the first quarter, according to the Commerce Department&#8217;s estimate.<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) on Thursday released its final reading of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/category\/economic-indicators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">first-quarter GDP<\/a>, which showed the economy grew at an annualized rate of 2.1% in the three-month period including January, February and March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/port-houston-trade.png\" alt=\"An aerial view of shipping containers at the Port of Houston\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>The Commerce Department released its final estimate of first-quarter GDP on Thursday. (Brandon Bell\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>That figure was higher than the expectations of economists polled by LSEG, who had estimated 1.6% GDP growth in the first quarter.
