{"id":726547,"date":"2026-06-26T04:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-26T04:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/726547\/"},"modified":"2026-06-26T04:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T04:46:08","slug":"four-star-ot-kal-el-johnson-commits-to-brent-key-im-excited-to-call-georgia-tech-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/726547\/","title":{"rendered":"Four-star OT Kal-El Johnson commits to Brent Key: &#8220;I\u2019m excited to call Georgia Tech home.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cincinnati (Ohio) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/high-school\/archbishop-moeller-cincinnati-oh-11296\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Archbishop Moeller<\/a> Rivals300 offensive tackle <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/kal-el-johnson-239316\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kal-El Johnson<\/a> tells Rivals he has committed to Georgia Tech.<\/p>\n<p>The four-star Johnson chose the Yellow Jackets over opportunities from Indiana, LSU and North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel comfortable with them,\u201d Johnson said.. \u201cIt\u2019s a stable program, and I really like a lot of the players there, including many of the players in the 2027 recruiting class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Johnson ranks as the Rivals300\u2019s No. 17 offensive tackle and No. 207 prospect overall. He becomes commit No. 26 for head coach Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets, adding to a class Rivals previously ranked No. 23 nationally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt seemed like the perfect fit,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cThere weren\u2019t any red flags or aspects I disliked. It was the first official visit I took, and I found myself comparing every other visit to it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m excited to call Georgia Tech home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Tech is particularly recruiting well on the offensive line as Johnson adds to a class that also includes four-star offensive tackle Joshua Sam-Epelle, along with fellow offensive tackle Braylin Mills and interior targets Jordan Dillon and Jaiden Thompson.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson raved about his official visit to Georgia Tech with colleague Greg Smith.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know how any other OV could top this one. The city was incredible and the staff matched that energy. I really connected with Coach Mo and Coach Torrey. They spent time with me in the film room and pointed out a few things I can improve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat really stood out was that two highly recruited players who had their OVs the week before came back just because they heard I\u2019d be there. We all talked about what it could look like if we ended up there together.
