\u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast<\/a> that was released this week, Adams, the Oscar-nominated star of \u201cThe Fighter\u201d and \u201cEnchanted,\u201d said she was leaving a restaurant in Santa Monica, California, with her family when she noticed a disturbance nearby. <\/p>\n\u201cThese people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, \u2018He\u2019s dying!\u2019\u201d she told hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Batemen.<\/p>\n
Adams said that her husband, Darren Le Gallo, stayed with their daughter, and she and her father jumped in to assist. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019d been stabbed in the neck,\u201d she said. \u201cSo he was bleeding, and his friends were freaking out.\u201d<\/p>\n
They grabbed beach towels to help stop the bleeding, with her father applying pressure to the wound while Adams worked to keep the victim calm and focused on breathing, she said.<\/p>\n
As she spoke to the injured man, Adams said, she drew upon her brief experience playing registered nurse Alice Doherty on \u201cDr. Vegas.\u201d <\/p>\n
The series, which starred Rob Lowe as Dr. Billy Grant, aired on CBS for just five episodes in 2004.<\/p>\n
She recalled repeating the advice \u201cThe more you struggle, the faster you\u2019re going to bleed. Just lay down.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adams also revealed that she unexpectedly crossed paths with the victim about a year after the incident. <\/p>\n
\u201cA guy walks up to me in a restaurant,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Yeah, that\u2019s so funny you heard that story.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh my God, it\u2019s you,\u2019\u201d Adams said. \u201cHe was all teary, and he had his son with him. It was so crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
