Ariana Grande has been spotted hanging out with ex Ricky Alvarez, just weeks after news of her split from Ethan Slater<\/a> emerged. <\/p>\n

In photos circulating via social media, the \u201cThank U, Next\u201d songstress was pictured at an Austin, Texas, restaurant<\/a> Thursday, smiling while chatting it up with her former boyfriend.<\/p>\n

However, a source told TMZ Grande \u2014 who is currently in the city for her \u201cEternal Sunshine\u201d tour \u2014 was simply hanging out with friends for her 33rd birthday and there \u201cis nothing romantic between Ariana and Ricky this time around.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spy also told the outlet the \u201cWicked\u201d star was seen snapping pics with fans, too.<\/p>\n

A rep for Grande did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s request for comment on Friday. <\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time the \u201cNo Tears Left to Cry\u201d songstress has been spotted hanging out with Alvarez, also 33, over the years. <\/p>\n

They were also seen spending time together in New York City<\/a> back in 2019 \u2014 but after rumors they were dating again<\/a> emerged, she quickly shot down the speculation, saying in a since-deleted tweet, \u201cSpoiler for the rest of this year \/ probably my life: [I\u2019m dating] no one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande and Alvarez were briefly romantically linked<\/a> after the backup dancer joined the Grammy winner for her Honeymoon Tour in 2015.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve since remained friends, with Grande referencing him in \u201cThank U, Next\u201d<\/a> in 2019, singing, \u201cWrote some songs about Ricky \/ Now I listen and laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande\u2019s outing with her former backup dancer comes on the heels of her split from \u201cWicked\u201d co-star Ethan Slater, 34, earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cAriana and Ethan broke up several months ago but they\u2019ve remained friends since then and have nothing but respect and admiration for one another,\u201d a source told Page Six on June 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis wasn\u2019t a decision they took lightly but realized they were better off friends than in a committed relationship,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

The source also noted that Grande was \u201cfeeling really happy and focused on the next chapter with her \u2018Eternal Sunshine\u2019 tour and the upcoming release of her album \u2018Petal.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Slater and Grande met on the set of \u201cWicked\u201d in 2022 \u2014 and at the time, Slater was still married to now ex-wife Lilly Jay<\/a>, with whom he shares 3-year-old son Ezra, while Grande was still married to now ex-husband Dalton Gomez<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A TV insider hinted to Page Six<\/a> in December the former couple may not have been on solid ground when Slater showed up for Grande\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d hosting gig that month.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople definitely were surprised that Ethan turned up,\u201d a spy told us at the time.<\/p>\n
