FRISCO, Texas \u2013 BYU football is bringing out its star players to the 2026 Big 12 Media Days.<\/p>\n
Fitting, considering that the annual Big 12 football event will once again be held at The Star, practice home of the NFL\u2019s Dallas Cowboys, in Frisco, Texas.<\/p>\n
A total of six BYU players are making the trip to Media Days.<\/p>\n
BYU football will send six players to the 2026 Big 12 Media Days<\/p>\n
Among the six player attendees are the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, LJ Martin, and the Big 12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year, Bear Bachmeier.<\/p>\n
Martin opted to return for his senior season after rushing for a career-high 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns a year ago.<\/p>\n
Bachmeier had an impressive rise as a freshman a season ago, leading BYU to a 12-win season and passing for 3,033 yards.<\/p>\n
The rest of BYU\u2019s attendees include First Team All-Big 12 center Bruce Mitchell and a trio of senior defensive players in linebacker Isaiah Glasker, cornerback Evan Johnson, and defensive lineman Keanu Tanuvasa.<\/p>\n
Glasker, Martin, and Tanuvasa are Big 12 Media Day veterans, having represented BYU last year at The Star. Bachmeier, Johnson, and Mitchell are first-time attendees to the Big 12\u2019s tentpole preseason event.<\/p>\n
These six players will be key to BYU\u2019s efforts of trying to reach the Big 12 Championship Game again this fall.<\/p>\n
Big 12 Media Days: July 7-8 at The Star<\/p>\n
BYU takes center stage at Big 12 Media Days on the first day of the two-day event<\/a>, Tuesday, July 7.<\/p>\n Along with BYU, reigning Big 12 Champion Texas Tech will also be going through the media gauntlet on that same day.<\/p>\n Joining BYU\u2019s players will be head coach Kalani Sitake, who signed a long-term extension with his alma mater last December.<\/p>\n Sitake has quickly become the longest tenured coach in the league. He\u2019s entering his 11th season at BYU, which is longer than any other head coach in the Big 12.<\/p>\n BYU is gearing up for its fourth Big 12 Media Day event.
