Matt Miller got candid about next steps following a horrific crash Wednesday<\/a> that led to the amputation of his left arm.<\/p>\n

The ESPN NFL draft analyst shared Friday morning that he was set for surgery, with the procedure being \u201ca big one.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo find out if my shoulder can be reconstructed in order to support a prosthetic arm,\u201d he wrote on X. \u201cYour continued thoughts and prayers are so appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt Miller joined ESPN in 2021 as an NFL Draft contributor before returning as a year-round Draft analyst in 2022. ESPN<\/p>\n

Miller first shared the details of the accident Tuesday on X, including the amputation of his left arm.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cLast week, I was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital. I\u2019m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I\u2019m incredibly fortunate to be writing this,\u201d Miller wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of the accident, I sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs. I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm,\u201d he continued. \u201cWhile I have a long road ahead, I\u2019m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

KOAM News first reported on the accident,\u00a0which occurred Wednesday afternoon in Jasper County.<\/a><\/p>\n

The accident involved Miller\u2019s 2023 Ford Bronco, which crossed the center line on Route 96 and collided with a semi-truck. The driver of the truck was not injured. <\/p>\n

More details were revealed Thursday<\/a> in a GoFundMe post. <\/p>\n

\u201cMatt suffered a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap, multiple broken ribs, and lost a significant amount of blood,\u201d the GoFundMe page\u2019s summary reads. \u201cTo save his life, doctors performed an emergency amputation of his left arm. Remarkably, his head, neck, and spine were spared serious injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller, 42, remains in the ICU and has already undergone surgery to his left leg. <\/p>\n

He has two children, Hayley and Emmitt, per his ESPN bio.<\/p>\n
