Donald Trump’s health has been scrutinized in a new book, amid mounting concerns about the president since his return to office.<\/p>\n

CNN host John Berman paused his live broadcast to speak with New York Times White House journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan about their new book, Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

The news anchor remarked, “I didn’t know the president was having a hard time hearing or that his hearing was fading?” Haberman responded, “Aides are aware that [Trump] is older. What exactly goes on with Donald Trump’s health is one of the mysteries of the last 10 years.” It comes after Barron Trump called dad Donald in “distress” to break some devastating news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Haberman said the White House is adept at maintaining confidentiality regarding Trump’s health matters.<\/p>\n

Haberman observed, “But he is moving differently. He has the swelling in the ankles which he was so irritated by the coverage. He’s very sensitive about his appearance.”<\/p>\n

The author went on to tell the CNN host, “His hearing is an issue. They have all been aware of it. The fact that he is older it’s harder to mask it.”<\/p>\n

According to Regime Change, Trump became irritated about the media coverage of his “cankles” and directed his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, to address it during one of her media briefings. The book also offers new details about his swollen ankles, which his physicians have attributed to chronic venous insufficiency.<\/p>\n

Trump, who marked his 80th birthday earlier this month, has faced mounting scrutiny regarding his physical and mental fitness during his second term. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle has pushed back against the speculation.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the Daily Beast, he declared, “President Trump’s sharpness, unmatched energy, and historic accessibility stand in stark contrast to what we saw during the last administration when Democrats and the legacy media intentionally covered up Joe Biden’s serious mental and physical decline from the American people.”<\/p>\n

The statement added, “President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible President in American history who is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises.”<\/p>\n

This comes after the president’s recent clash with a journalist, which happened one day following his “awkward” and “strange” G7 address. Trump responded tersely to a reporter on June 18, stating, “I know what’s going on a hell of a lot better than you do,” during a live question-and-answer session.<\/p>\n

The heated exchange happened just one day after his remarks at the G7 summit in France were characterized as “strange” and “rambling in parts.”<\/p>\n
