Fans were outraged Sunday morning after Chris Carter, the legendary host of KLOS\u2019 Breakfast With The Beatles, announced the long-running Beatles show<\/a> was losing an hour.<\/p>\n The revelation was made by Carter on air and immediately kickstarted a firestorm from fans of the radio staple<\/a>.<\/p>\n Paul McCartney and Breakfast With The Beatles host Chris Carter. Obtained by the CA Post<\/p>\n \u201cBeginning today Breakfast With The Beatles will air from 9am to 11am instead of\u00a0 9am to 12pm.\u201d Carter told his listeners, \u201cYou gotta understand something folks, we play music that\u2019s 60 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cManagement, they love the show, they want to keep the show but they are tweaking it. Obtained by the CA Post<\/p>\n The show has been on the Los Angeles airwaves since Deirdre O\u2019Donoghue started it in 1983. Carter took over in 2001 and has filled the city with Beatles songs for over 25 years.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Loyal listener Mike Sinclair was shocked when he heard the announcement and told The California Post, \u201cNo! Why? I\u2019m very surprised as I\u2019ve always understood that Breakfast With The Beatles was the No. 1 weekend show on KLOS.\u201d<\/p>\n Breakfast With The Beatles has been on the air in Los Angeles since 1983. Roger Viollet via Getty Images<\/p>\n Another fan, Pat Tyson, who\u2019s attended at least 50 live shows, which happen at various LA locations, said, \u201cI don\u2019t like them messing with it at all.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s the Beatles and then there\u2019s everyone else, they are timeless, to take an hour from the program is truly a loss for everyone,\u201d Tyson added.<\/p>\n \u201cI just look forward to the three hours. It\u2019s my Sunday ritual. I don\u2019t know what to do with myself,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Tyson has already reached out to other listeners and plans to contact KLOS management first thing Monday morning and let them know they do not agree with the decision.<\/p>\n Calls from The Post to KLOS went unanswered.<\/p>\n Chris and Ringo at the iconic Amoeba Music in Hollywood Obtained by the CA Post<\/p>\n Carter, a former member of \u201980s rock band Dramarama,\u00a0continues to be the ringleader of all things Beatles in LA.\u00a0 He\u2019s interviewed four members of the band and has hosted record release and birthday events for Ringo Starr<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Sinclair is hopeful the show will return to the original format. \u201cThere\u2019s a reason it\u2019s America\u2019s longest running Beatles Show, it rocks and rolls.
