Just three months ago, certified Hollywood heartthrob Pedro Pascal<\/a> turned 50 years old \u2014\u00a0his 2025 has been so abuzz with hits, most have probably forgotten that he was in \u201cGladiator II\u201d<\/a> and \u201cThe Wild Robot\u201d not even a year ago. After years of largely working under the radar, he told AP<\/a> that he can hardly believe his luck.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the best time of my life,\u201d he said. \u201cJust, I don\u2019t know\u2026 look around, and it\u2019s an incredible reflection of\u2026 what I\u2019m experiencing right now. I\u2019m having a really amazing time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the success of the romantic drama \u201cMaterialists<\/a>\u201d last month, \u201cThe Last of Us\u201d star is front and center as Mr. Fantastic in \u201cThe Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/a>,\u201d out in theaters July 25<\/a>. He said that he does not take the responsibility of leading a brand-new Marvel Studios feature lightly, emphasizing that he knows that the massive, hardcore fan base is watching.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that sometimes the outside will find you, no matter how much you try to protect yourself from it,\u201d Pascal said. \u201cIt just comes with the territory. I think maybe my nerves were bigger than they usually are, and so I think I just was a little bit more sensitive to the love that people have for stories like this, because I know that they wouldn\u2019t exist if it weren\u2019t for the love that people have for these characters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d actor certainly is no stranger to acting in beloved franchises \u2014\u00a0from a preeminent intergalactic series to an epic video game adaptation \u2014\u00a0and he recognized the responsibility of crafting a piece of entertainment that would satisfy audiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that it\u2019s just very important for me that expectations be fulfilled\u2026 but I also know that the only way to do that is to give it all my focus and all my heart and my body and my soul and\u2026 that was the best I could do,\u201d Pascal shared.<\/p>\n

Beyond entering the MCU, Pascal will also hit theaters on Friday, July 18 in Ari Aster\u2019s latest \u201cEddington,\u201d<\/a> where he plays a small town mayor squaring off against Joaquin Phoenix on opposite sides of the COVID debate circa 2020. That would be the second of three theatrical releases he has in just six weeks.<\/p>\n
