(June 27, 2026) – The U.S. Men’s U21 National Team turned in its most impressive performance of the 2026 U21 Pan American Cup with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-14) over Canada in the gold medal match on Sunday in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The U.S. defeated Canada in four sets in the 2025 final.

The U.S. dominated statistically with edges in kills (36-21), blocks (8-1) and service aces (4-0).

Outside hitter Blake Fahlbusch led all scorers with 14 points on 11 kills and three blocks, hitting .556 with just one error in 18 attacks. Middle blocker Jackson Cryst also reached double digits with 10 points on nine kills and a block. He was nearly unstoppable on offense with just one error in 11 attacks for an .818 hitting efficiency percentage.

Setter Cameron Kosty ran the U.S. offense that finished with a .431 team hitting percentage Opposite Kainoa Wade totaled nine points on eight kills and a block, while leading the team with seven digs.

Middle Trevell Jordan sharing match-high honors with Fahlbusch with three blocks, adding three kills and the championship-clinching ace. Outside Mateo Fuebringer finished with five points on four kills and an ace. He and libero Johnny Dykstra each registered six digs. Dykstra led the team with nine successful receptions followed closely by Fuerbringer with eight.

Tough Fahlbusch serves led to kills on an overpass by Fuebringer and Cryst as the U.S. started the match with a 4-1 run. Canada came back to even the set 8-8 before the U.S. used a kill and block by Cryst and a Fahlbusch kill that put the U.S. up by four and prompted a Canada timeout. A hitting error and another Cryst kill made it 14-8 before Canada stopped the 6-0 run. Cryst’s fourth kill and fifth point of the set gave the U.S. a 17-10 advantage. Jordan tipped a dig that seemed destined for the net to an open spot on the Canada side and followed with a block on the next play for a 21-12 U.S. lead. Kosty then served back-to-back aces for an 11-point margin. Canada held off two set points before Jordan recorded his third kill and fifth point, giving the U.S. middle blockers 10 points in the set.

Canada took an early two-point lead in the second set, but the U.S. tied the score 6-6 on a Jordan block and took the lead on a Fuerbringer ace. A kill and block by Fahlbusch gave the U.S. a three-point lead, 10-7. Kills by Fahlbusch and Wade extended the lead to five points, 13-8. The teams traded off the next 10 points before Cryst kept the Canada offense at bay before scoring on an overpass for an 18-13 advantage. Fahlbusch scored on the next rally for a six-point U.S. lead that forced Canada to call a timeout. A Cryst kill made it 22-16 and when he scored on a give-and-go, the U.S. earned set point, 24-18. Canada scored the next point before a service error ended the set. Fahlbusch scored seven points on six kills and a block with Cryst adding four kills.

The third set opened with a great up from Dykstra that led to another Fahlbusch kill. A Fuerbringer kill put the U.S. ahead 5-2. Canada tied the score at 6-6 before the U.S. went on a 6-1 run keyed by a block and kill from Fahlbusch and capped by a Wade kill. Trailing 12-8, Canada had a swing to pull back within three points but was thwarted by a Wade block. An error and Cryst kill later, the U.S. extended its lead to seven points, 15-8. The margin grew to eight, 18-10, on another Cryst kill. Another Fahlbusch block made it 22-14 and an error put the U.S. within two points of the gold medal. Fuerbringer delivered a kill to set up match point and Jordan sealed gold with an ace. Fahlbusch scored five points on three kills and Wade finished with four points on three kills and a block.

2026 Men’s U21 National Team Roster for the Pan American Cup

Name
