Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., was taken to the hospital and treated for what his office called minor injuries after a multi-car crash Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEarlier today, a Delaware driver experienced a medical incident and collided with several cars, including one in which Senator Coons was a passenger,\u201d his office said in a statement. \u201cSenator Coons was transported to Beebe Hospital and treated for minor injuries. He is now home and expected to make a full and swift recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exact nature of his injuries was not disclosed.<\/p>\n

Officials have also not yet released the status of the other people involved in the crash or where exactly it took place Coons\u2019 office thanked the Lewes Police Department and other nearby first responders.<\/p>\n

\u201cSenator Coons is deeply grateful to the first responders for their prompt and professional response, including the Lewes Police Department, Lewes and Rehoboth Fire Departments, and Sussex County Emergency Medical Services, as well as the capable doctors and nurses at Beebe Hospital, where he received excellent care.
