Kim Mulkey\u2019s LSU Tigers recently released its schedule for the 2025-26 season. Mulkey has a stacked season ahead of her that\u2019ll feature 15 home and 12 away games. They\u2019ll start the year with two exhibition games against Mississippi College and Langston.<\/p>\n
The Tigers\u2019 season opener will be on Nov. 4 against Houston Christian. Two days later, they\u2019ll play Southeastern Louisiana. Analyst Quita of the \u201cQuita In The Morning\u201d podcast stated that it\u2019s a very easy schedule for Mulkey and co.<\/p>\n
She also noted that this has been a trend where teams look for easy matchups. Despite that, there\u2019s one game that Quita believes could cause real trouble<\/a> for Mulkey\u2019s LSU.<\/p>\n \u201cThe one tough game I see in non-conference play is going to be on December the 4th, as LSU takes on Duke. I think that\u2019s going to be a very, very fun game. That\u2019s an ACC-SEC challenge game. That\u2019s going to be very fun, very, very fun to see,\u201d Quita said. (4:57)<\/p>\n In her opinion, LSU might end up winning the game because of their roster strength<\/a> but it wouldn\u2019t be a cakewalk for them as compared to some of their other matchups. The reason why Quita feels Duke will give LSU a tough time is because of their defense.<\/p>\n \u201cUltimately, I do think that LSU probably has the nod, but I tell you this, Duke is a very good defensive team, and we\u2019ll see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n Quita outlined two more games on the schedule that\u2019ll be worth looking forward to. LSU vs Texas on Jan. 11 and LSU vs South Carolina on Feb. 14, which will be a home game. So, there\u2019s plenty to look forward to, especially given the talent that LSU possesses.<\/p>\n Kim Mulkey\u2019s former player joins LSU\u2019s coaching staff<\/p>\n While most of the headlines are occupied with the new players programs are bringing in<\/a>, Kim Mulkey welcomed a former player back to LSU. Emily Ward, a part of the 2023 NCAA Championship-winning team, has joined the LSU coaching staff.<\/p>\n As announced<\/a> earlier this month, Ward has joined LSU as their new director of women\u2019s basketball operations. Mulkey was over the moon welcoming Ward back into the program. In an official statement posted on the LSU website, she said:<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very excited to welcome Emily Ward back to LSU in her new role as our Director of Women\u2019s Basketball Operations. Her experience as a national champion and as a team captain during her playing career will be instrumental in her new role.\u201d<\/p>\n Mulkey stated that the LSU program is fortunate to have someone as talented as Ward back in the camp.
