Sharpe intends to sign a two-year, $20 million deal, but the Nets are declining Sharpe\u2019s option for next season to be able to sign him to the deal. Minott will also have his team option declined, but will reportedly sign a two-year, $9 million deal once players can do so on July 6.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Brooklyn Nets center Day&#8217;Ron Sharpe intends to sign a new two-year, $20 million deal to return to the franchise, sources tell ESPN. The Nets declined Minott\u2019s team option to clear the way for a new contract. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9HlXrdo91Z\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/9HlXrdo91Z<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/2071605960104108178?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">June 29, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sharpe, the No. 29 pick in the 2021 Draft, has only played for the Nets in his career and posted a career-best 8.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 2025-26. He shot 60.1% overall and also notched a career-best 1.1 steals per game last season as well.<\/p>\n<p>Minott was a second-round pick (No. 45) for the Charlotte Hornets in the 2022 Draft, but was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves shortly thereafter. He played his first three seasons with Minnesota, then signed with the Boston Celtics as a free agent last summer and was traded to the Nets at the trade deadline.<\/p>\n<p>In Brooklyn, Minott excelled by posting a career-best 10.8 ppg and 16 games while shooting 49.1% overall, 39.5% on 3-pointers and posted 2.5 rpg as well.<\/p>\n<p>The duo will be a part of Brooklyn\u2019s frontline in 2026-27, which got a major boost with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nba.com\/news\/reports-julius-randle-traded-to-nets-on-eve-of-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported trade<\/a> that brings aboard former All-Star forward Julius Randle from Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brooklyn\u2019s Day\u2019Ron Sharpe (left) and Josh Minott take in a New York Liberty game on May 21.
