Again. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He was here in <a href=\"https:\/\/godzilla.com\/blogs\/news\/godzilla-vs-america-portland-brings-the-king-of-the-monsters-to-the-pacific-northwest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">March<\/a> thanks to the release of the collaborative comic Godzilla vs. Portland\u2014the title tells you what you need to know.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Now local comics shop Cosmic Monkey is helping to bring out an exclusive second printing with a series of Godzilla screenings at the Academy Theater. For $15, you\u2019ll get a comic book and a seat at one of three screenings (July 3, 6 and 8) of the 1971 campy eco-horror Godzilla vs. Hedorah.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Godzilla vs. Portland comic is part of comics publisher IDW\u2019s larger <a href=\"https:\/\/godzilla.com\/blogs\/news\/godzilla-vs-america-collection-brings-the-king-of-the-monsters-to-u-s-cities-this-april?srsltid=AfmBOoqTzcPtGFcJb_u0QcUCwDa90W_ACQ39KW1U_phQquvM9xVzf2Ah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Godzilla vs. America<\/a> series, where the beloved kaiju terrorized cities across the country. Other editions\u2019 settings included Los Angeles and Chicago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Each edition has strong ties to its host city. \u201cAlmost everyone involved is a local comic book writer or artist,\u201d Cosmic Monkey owner Andy Johnson says of the Portland edition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">During Godzilla\u2019s stint in the Rose City, he encounters a sasquatch, Damian Lillard and food carts\u2014all framed by a picturesque view of Mount Hood.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/LIOLRWRFPJCZ5MUEOOCO2F7XQA.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"1236\"\/>Godzilla vs. Portland (c\/o Cosmic Monkey Comics) <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Five local artists and writers contributed to the comic, including award-winning Portland comics artist Colleen Coover, known for the lesbian-themed erotic comic book Small Favors as well as her work on several X-Men projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">When the comic was first released in March, Johnson says, \u201cWe pretty much sold out of the entire print run, and people kept coming in and asking for more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Cosmic Monkey\u2019s requested second print run will feature an exclusive cover by Eisner Award\u2013winning artists and married couple Michael and Laura Allred. The first one had doughnuts and the PDX Airport carpet. Now, the shop\u2019s monkey cosmonaut mascot can be seen fleeing the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall before it\u2019s trampled by Godzilla.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Should you miss this Godzilla extravaganza, there will be another chance to score the exclusive new edition on July 18.
