Much of the structure is supported by a series of massive poles that extend from the ground to the roofline, with long beams bolted to the posts to carry the weight of decks and living spaces. Period details include a stained-glass front door restored by artisans in Berkeley. The redesign also tackled some of the home\u2019s quirkier elements, including low ceilings and uneven floors, while reworking the layout for modern living. Rising three stories through the canopy, the residence is topped by dramatic glass cube skylights that flood the interiors with refracted natural light.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the bathrooms feature heated floors, illuminated mirrors, floating vanities, and floor-to-ceiling tile.<\/p>\n

Beyond the main house, the 1.36-acre property includes a detached two-story guesthouse with its own kitchen and laundry facilities, a flat turf field, and parking for up to 18 vehicles. A dedicated wellness retreat aligns the property with contemporary luxury residential design, featuring a cedar barrel sauna, cold plunge, and outdoor shower oriented directly toward the redwoods.<\/p>\n
