Megyn Kelly is celebrating the \u201cSupergirl\u201d box office bomb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Megyn Kelly Show,\u201d the host became the latest conservative media figure to be excited by the new DC film\u2019s box office struggles. She thought the new loss for \u201cSupergirl\u201d meant a heralding of the end of girlboss messaging being \u201cforced upon us.\u201d Kelly said a lot of the issues came with how star Milly Alcock looked and came across in press.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Supergirl\u2019 has opened at the movie theater well below expectations, because its star, Millie Alcock, is as loathsome as the girl [Rachel Zegler] who played in \u2018Snow White,\u2019 and seems to appreciate women in exactly the same way as that other gal did, and is receiving similar backlash,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cThat, plus we\u2019re over the forced-upon-us girlboss era. It\u2019s not authentic, it\u2019s not organic, we\u2019re no longer buying it. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not that women can\u2019t be empowered and fierce and all the great things, it\u2019s just not forcing it on us in the form of like \u2018Supergirl,\u2019 this woman looks like she\u2019s 5 foot \u2014 it\u2019s a lot, online, they say she\u2019s 5\u20195\u2033. If she\u2019s 5\u20191, it\u2019s a miracle. She\u2019s very weirdly small, and they want us to believe she\u2019s this fierce super \u2013 no.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly continued: \u201cSo, now that people who like superhero movies are misogynists if they reject the weird short girl with the very strange look as their latest girlboss, and not something like this \u2026 So [you] can\u2019t center around a love relationship because that would be offensive and obviously disempowering. If you are in a love relationship with a man as a woman, it\u2019s disempowering to your superhero narrative. F that. Virtually every woman on earth who\u2019s straight would love to connect with a man, form a love relationship, and be buoyed up by it, not diminished, which is a Hollywood weird woke message.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the film\u2019s release, Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters also decided to be very critical of the movie and star Alcock\u2019s comments that Supergirl might be bisexual. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo man will ever see this movie,\u201d Watters said. \u201cAnd most women won\u2019t see it. The ones that do, there\u2019s just not enough of them to make money from the movie, if you know what I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cBut the whole bisexual thing \u2026 Guys don\u2019t get into that. Maybe that\u2019s cool when you\u2019re 18, but when a girl\u2019s bisexual, we don\u2019t trust her. We don\u2019t trust her. And the ones I\u2019ve met are super weird. So to say you\u2019re bisexual, it\u2019s not a turn on. It\u2019s not a turn on.\u201d<\/p>\n

As TheWrap previously reported, the superhero film opened to an underwhelming $37.1 million at the weekend box office and is projected to lose $85 million. <\/p>\n
