It completed a journey from GSFC, MD to KSC, FL aboard the Pegasus barge on June 21.

Named after NASA’s first chief astronomer, Nancy Grace Roman (1925-2018), the ‘mother of the Hubble Space Telescope,’ the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble’s, allowing it to study a billion galaxies in its lifetime. This observatory will also be able to block starlight to directly see exoplanets and planet-forming disks, complete a statistical census of planetary systems in our galaxy, and settle essential questions in the areas of dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics.

NASA

The Roman Space Telescope will be stationed at the Sun-Earth L2 Lagrange point, 1.5 million km away from Earth, similar to the location of the Webb Telescope.

https://science.nasa.gov/mission/roman-space-telescope/

We will do a deep dive into the design of the telescope at a later date.

Lord knows, with all the non-stop chaos around us from all 3 three branches of our government, we need a timeline cleanser every now and then to calm down and to recharge for the battles ahead.

We’ll get straight to the point: The financial hardships that Daily Kos is facing this year are tough.

We continue to be paywall-free.
