Viktor Hovland claimed his eighth PGA Tour victory after defeating world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a Monday playoff at the Travelers Championship.

Both players ended regulation at 21-under after an 83-minute weather delay forced play to continue the following morning, but only one hole was needed after Scheffler missed his four-foot putt to match Hovland’s birdie and extend the match.

This is Scheffler’s fourth runner-up finish this season. Collin Morikawa, who began Sunday’s round nine back of the lead, tied his career-low (61) to take solo third.
